Spidi’s Progressive Net Jacket is here to keep you cool and protected

Spidi, an Italian gear and equipment specialist, has been on the market for over 45 years now and has established itself as one of the biggest when it comes to jackets, gloves and equipment in general. The brand is one of the pioneers of the now ubiquitous mesh jacket and has been keeping cyclists cool in hot weather for many, many years now.

For the 2022 riding season, Spidi is further expanding its range of jacket designs with the introduction of the Progressive Net Jacket. Decked out in a sporty, race-inspired decor, the Progressive Net Jacket is designed to look stylish, keep you safe and protected, and provide maximum airflow during the hot summer months. It’s part of the brand’s Performance series of jackets, perfect for sport cyclists and naked cyclists alike, and features a high tenacity 3D mesh fabric offering superb abrasion resistance, comfort and excellent ventilation.

Inside the jacket we find a fixed mesh liner which makes the jacket the perfect choice for those who ride in temperate climates. If and when the temperatures drop, however, a removable Windout liner can also be added to keep you toasty warm. Spidi has added a bunch of features to make sure the jacket fits snug and comfortable. It is finished with multiple adjustment tabs at the waist and cuffs, as well as a connecting zipper for compatible riding pants. It is also quite practical, with two external pockets to store your personal belongings. An inside pocket is also available.

When it comes to protective features, the Progressive Net has plenty. For starters, it’s equipped with certified Warrior Lite level 2 protectors on the shoulders and elbows. External Warrior shells on the shoulders provide even more protection, while adding to the overall sporty aesthetic of the jacket. A pocket for a standard back protector is also incorporated into the design, although the jacket does not come with a ready-to-use back protector. Considering all this, Spidi’s new jacket is certified Class A PPE according to EN17092-4:2020.

As for pricing and availability, the Spidi Progressive Net Jacket comes in two colorways: black and black/red. Sizes range from S to 3XL, while Spidi charges 229.90 euros, the equivalent of US$243, for this sporty textile jacket.
