EXAM – Mosquitoes, gnats, biting flies, etc. are incredibly annoying and when it comes to mosquitoes they can pose a real threat to our health. Is there a way to enjoy the time outdoors without soaking in insect repellent? That’s where the Mozzie Style Mosquito Net Jacket comes in. Let’s put it on, zip it up and head outside to try it on.
What is that?
The Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket is a lightweight, full-zip hoodie that’s made with a very fine mesh that keeps bugs out of your skin.
Design and features
The Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket is a unisex style full zip jacket that features a zip front with cute decorative stripes on either side of the nylon zipper.
The jacket is available in white or black and in sizes from XS to XXL. The jacket has knit cuffs, knit waistband, drawstring hood and front pockets.
Close-up of the fine knit material the jacket is made of (98% recycled polyester and 2% cotton/polyester). The weave works great to keep mosquitoes out of your skin without the jacket itself being bulky.
Here is how effective the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket is for a variety of insects. Their website states that the white version of the jacket is more effective than the black one because mosquitoes are less attracted to the white color.
Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket Fit and Comfort
As mentioned, the Mozzie Style Mosquito Net Jacket is a unisex jacket and I have one in size XS. For reference, I’m 5’6″ and weigh 125 lbs. I think the XS is quite loose on me, but you don’t want this jacket to be tight so I guess that’s ok since it’s not meant to be a fashion statement 😉
The jacket is very thin (transparent) and very light, it almost feels like you’re wearing nothing. The mesh material has a very very slight scratch, but it’s so light it’s barely noticeable.
I wanted to test the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket as I am a bug magnet. Especially insects that bite and sting. Even midges bite me and leave it itchy. When we go to Sanibel Island, I end up looking like I have a case of chickenpox from the noses biting me while I’m on the beach. It’s annoying and uncomfortable to have multiple lumps that itch like crazy.
Since I don’t have a trip to Sanibel Island, Florida planned until October, I decided to test the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket in my yard and garden which are infested with gnats and mosquitoes during the warmer months. as we do now. .
The hood of the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket protects your neck, but not your face. Mozzie Style sells a mosquito net hat for $17.99 and you can even buy a trousers for $24.99 if you want head-to-toe bug coverage. I already had a hat, so I was protected.
Whenever Jeanne wants me to help her in the garden, I wear pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a jungle hat with a mesh veil around my face so I don’t get eaten alive. Wearing a long-sleeved shirt outside when it’s 90 degrees or more is not comfortable. Am I not a sight to behold?
I’ve spent hours in the garden wearing the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket and haven’t even had a bug bite! To say I’m happy is an understatement! I will definitely be taking this jacket with me to Sanibel this fall. Take that nose!
What I like
- Has pockets
- No chemicals
What I would change
- Need to incorporate a face veil too
- Add size XXS
Insects love me. If there is an insect that bites, it will find me and it will sting me. It’s hard to enjoy my 12 acres of woods in the summer. But now, with the Mozzie Style Mosquito Jacket, I’ve found the secret “cure” to my problems. I love this jacket. It’s light, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and it keeps insects from biting me. If bugs love you too, but you don’t, check out Mozzie Style’s gear.
